Here's a recipe to prepare Chef-style mixed vegetable rice:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Basmati rice
- 2 cups water
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, beans, peas, corn, etc.), chopped
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
- Lemon juice (optional)
How to make mixed vegetable rice :-
Rinse the rice in cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for 20-30 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them crackle.
Add finely chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent.
Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes until the raw smell goes away.
Add chopped mixed vegetables and sauté for a few minutes.
Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes.
Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pan. Mix well.
Add 2 cups of water and mix well. Bring the water to a boil.
Cover the pan with a lid and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
Once the rice is cooked, turn off the heat and let it rest for 5 minutes. Then, fluff the rice with a fork.
Finally, add some lemon juice (if desired) and chopped coriander leaves. Mix well.
Your Chef-style mixed vegetable rice is now ready to be served! Enjoy it with your favorite curry or raita for a delicious and healthy meal.
