Ingredients of besan ka halwa
- 1 cup gram flour (besan)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup ghee
- 3 cups water
- 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (almonds, cashews, pistachios)
How to make besan ka halwa:
Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan on medium heat.
Add the gram flour to the pan and stir continuously to avoid lumps. Roast for 10-12 minutes or until the flour turns golden brown and fragrant.
In a separate pan, boil the water and sugar until the sugar dissolves completely.
Add the sugar syrup to the roasted gram flour mixture slowly, stirring continuously.
Mix well and keep stirring until the halwa thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
Add cardamom powder and chopped nuts to the halwa and mix well.
Serve hot and garnish with more chopped nuts.
